Rocks Brewing 2017 Russian Imperial Stout

Rocks Brewing are about to release a cracker of a beer with their latest Conviction Series Russian Imperial Stout. With a heap of different malts including Maris Otter, Pale, Munich, Oats, Midnight Wheat, Carafa III and topped off with some Belgian Candy Sugar. Unfortunately, there will be a mere 10 kegs and 100 cases of this indulgent drop and will only available in the Sydney area.

It sounds excellent, so put a word into your local craft beer source and get them to put a bottle or two aside for you when they are released in bottle next month. The keg release date is Sunday, 23 July which is a bit earlier for those who can’t wait for the bottled creation.

Russian Imperial Stout 2017 Limited Edition

An event that evokes excitement among the people like only ‘The King of Beers’ can; the release of the Imperial Stout is an occasion that creates fervour once a year like no other. The story of the beer has the old English brewers brewing Stout of extra strength to prevent it from freezing on the journey to the Russian Imperial courts, where it was popular with the Czar’s. Our brewers at Rocks Brewing, inspired by our forbearers, have created a beer that would bring warmth to even the coldest heart. A big, bold, luscious, rich beer pouring jet-black with a deep red hue and a foamy almost-purple head. Aromas of roasted malt, dark chocolate and fruitcake emerge from the glass. Each sip is a delight across the taste buds with a decadent mouth-feel carrying the big flavours. Initial sweetness gives way to a bitterness that balances the beer while not overwhelming the complexity of such a big brew.
